The Work

Magic, treated as a discipline — not a metaphor.

Sam Webster, PhD, M.Div., is an Adept of the Golden Dawn and a cofounder of the Chthonic‑Ouranian Templar Order, initiated across Wiccan, Druidic, Buddhist, Hindu, and Masonic lineages. Ordained through the Starr King School for the Ministry at the Graduate Theological Union, he earned his doctorate at the University of Bristol in 2015, studying Pagan history under Prof. Ronald Hutton — work that sits directly beside four decades of ritual practice, public teaching, and independent publishing.

Who He Is

An initiate of many houses,
a priest of one god.

From the Bay Area to Bristol, Sam Webster has spent forty years moving between traditions — Golden Dawn, Thelema, Buddhadharma, Wicca, Druidry, Hindu Tantra, and Freemasonry — and just as long building the institutions that let others do the same.

What readers, students & colleagues say.

A reader in Chicago wrote that the book she bought was well researched and thoughtfully written, offered a genuinely fresh perspective, and noticeably deepened her own practice — and that the press's commitment to Pagan scholarship shows on every page.
