The Rite of the Milk of the Stars
One of Sam's earliest published ritual scripts, this working calls on Nuit, the star-strewn body of the sky in Egyptian and Thelemic cosmology, using her own image of nourishing, infinite starlight as the ritual's central symbol.
The piece is written as a usable rite, not just a meditation on the goddess — it lays out the structure, invocation language, and symbolic acts a group or solo practitioner would actually perform, in the tradition of Golden Dawn and Thelemic ceremonial format.
Alongside its companion piece, "The Star Child," written the following year, it marks the beginning of Sam's long practice of composing original ritual rather than only performing inherited ones.
