not normal…
A Milarepa verse on refusing to conform to prevailing social norms.
The last post Sam published to the blog, in January 2015, and the shortest. It is built around an image of Milarepa and a verse the Tibetan yogi is said to have sung to Likor Charuwa when asked why he would not conform to the social norms of his day.
The verse dismisses what people say as so much rumbling echo, refuses to let it interfere with practice, and sends reputation off to go wherever it likes. Sam offers no commentary — the choice of text, filed under both Blog and Dharma and tagged for identity and leadership, is the argument.
